I found this CD course very informative and inspiring. It offers a method for utilizing brain wave awareness to actually work with one's subconscious and interact with the world from that place. I have been meditating for a number of years now, and the opportunity to review a scientific perspective and methodology for approaching this was very interesting. No matter what religious perspective, currently I feel that these techniques can help deepen one's practice.

These techniques also help with improving one's intuitive abilities. Silva takes the psychic world very seriously, and if you are interested in clairvoyance of any sort, this is a great place to start. I also purchased the Ultra-Mind CD set and it is an excellent follow-up to investigate developing one's psychic abilities. However, I would recommend starting with The Silva Method first because it is a more straight-forward presentation of the techniques and offers a foundation for the exploration offered in Ultra-Mind.

As a result of the concepts I encountered in The Silva Method, I have been working with communicating with my pets, and I believe I have been fairly successful. Pet communication is not specifically covered, but I have a sense that animals must "listen" from a lower brain wave rhythm (as do children, which is covered) and by accessing this with my communication I can "send" a message. It also makes me inquire into the energy I am "sending" in all of my communications.

My only complaint, which has been covered in other reviews of Silva material, is the continual emphasis on embedding a moral perspective into the conditioning tracks. If, as they also emphasize, the practices truly do not work with negative intentions, then why embed "brain-washing" in the conditioning tracks? Isn't it enough to explain that? I don't think it is necessary and I found it a turn-off despite the fact that my interest IS in developing myself as a "good" person. However, regardless of this, the techniques are sound and I don't really use the conditioning tracks--instead I practice what I learned. And the Silva techniques are helpful in my continued and ever deepening spiritual journey.

Summer 2010 - After some time and further reflection on the Silva Method: I conclude that yes, this is very interesting and I am very glad to have learned about it. And I would still highly recommend it. However, in addition, I would caution the user that the focus of this series encourages a form of spiritual materialism. It is presented in a way that is about "attainment" of special powers, even if they are for "good". And thus the program offers a pitfall in human tendencies towards delusion. Awareness of this aspect of the program will enable the user to maintain a healthy perspective and ultimately let go of this information in order to continue to grow spiritually.

I thoroughly enjoyed this program and use the guided meditations regularly to get to alpha and to program desired skills and benefits. This is a well laid out and taught home course. Very comprehensive and an excellent intro into the Silva "world" of their other course work.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone but especially to those thinking about taking a seminar. Its a very inexpensive way to know if its for you and will give you home tools to continue with either way.
I was not in anyway offended by the positive affirmations and moral code introduced in the meditations. They come from the heart of Jose Silva who wanted everyone to be the best they could be. GOD bless JB

Pleasantly surprised

I found out about the Silva Method through the official Silva website. They offered a free meditation download and l loved it which led me to looking for a good offer on their home study course. I found this one which is put out by Robert Stone. It is one of the original courses so it is an older version. At first l was not sure if l was going to be happy with an older version but as l started to listen to the meditation and do the lessons, I found that l was hooked. The meditation is the same as the free download but the original version seemed to take me to a deeper level. I also read the Silva Method book before beginning the home study course which l think helped me to understand the method better. Overall l was very happy.
